PASTOR GLEN'S BLOG
October 3, 2018
Does anyone care that you are praying? I believe people in your neighborhood ought to be a little nervous because you are praying. When we consider that our prayers are making contact with the One who has a will and purpose for our lives, people around us ought to be just a little nervous!
Jesus’ disciples never asked him how to move mountains, or feed multitudes, or turn water into wine, or heal the blind, deaf and lame – but they did ask him to teach them how to pray. Don’t underestimate what is happening when you and I pray! PRAYER MATTERS!! Even in the routine of our lives, God is doing something.
As we gather on Wednesday (at 7:00 p.m.) for prayer at the Scott’s home, may God meet us in such a way that people in our community will get nervous that we are praying. As James writes, “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” Therefore, please continue to seek God’s face in prayer and expect great things because God is at work!!
Jon & Jennie Justine
Right now this sweet girl is 2 1/2 years old and living in Hangzhou, China. The name given to her by the orphanage is Cai Qi (pronounced Tsai Chee). She's been living in the same orphanage since she was around 7 months old. Her life had a rough start and she has many obstacles yet to overcome, but there is a spark of joy in her that is astounding. We're hoping to make her a Justine before her 3rd birthday on March 1.
International adoption is expensive. Jennie has applied for every adoption aid grant she can find and we are doing our best to pinch every penny to bring Maya home. If you also want to be part of the miracle of Maya's homecoming, we have two incredible options.
Beginning October 8 we will be running a Christmas shopping fundraiser campaign to raise money for Maya's adoption. Several friends with small businesses have offered to participate. We will give one week to each business. Some items for sale include handmade jewelry, Dot Dot Smile kids dresses, Lula Roe clothing, Lemongrass Spa products, and phone charger cords. Jennie will send a separate email with a link to this fundraiser in the next few days. If you're interested in Christmas shopping for a cause, please visit the link. If you are a small business owner and would like to participate in our fundraiser, please let Jennie know.
Another amazing option for giving has been gifted to our family. The Chosen and Dearly Loved Foundation, in partnership with Lifesong for Orphans, has awarded a matching grant of $4,000 toward Maya's adoption! If you simply want a tax deductible way to donate toward Maya's adoption expenses, AND HAVE YOUR DONATION MATCHED, you can do so here.
Please designate your donation to our family and enter our family's account number 7959 in the appropriate box.

Women’s Business Bible study with a Christian Worldview - Why do we have those books that we read for work, and then another set of books we read for church? What if we read the books for work, and see if there are Christian principles to apply, or how we as Christians can stay true to our faith when challenged with things possible counter to our faith. The study will meet at Starbucks on Tuesdays beginning on October 16th for 7 sessions, ending November 30 or December 6 depending on Thanksgiving week.
· 5:45: Place your coffee order and visit
· 6:00 Discuss the book and reflect on Biblical principles
