Pastor Glen's Blog
November 9, 2017
Last Sunday, I was wonderfully surprised when Tiffany Severs came forward during announcements in worship and gave me the gift for Pastor’s Appreciation Month. I want you to know that I was touched by the kindness and generosity of our congregation! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!
One of the greatest things we can do is remember to say “Thank You!” We can thank those who serve us in restaurants, stores, other businesses, our places of employment, and in our homes with our families. It really makes a difference!
It is my prayer that we all cultivate a spirit of thankfulness in our lives. I would like to encourage us to ultimately give God the thanks He deserves. He is the source of all the blessings in our life. Thankfulness may not be natural, but it becomes easier as we practice. Here are a few practical ways to offer thanksgiving this week:
- Spend some time this week making a list of how God has blessed you and then thank Him for each of those things.
- Put a thankfulness reminder in your calendar to make thanksgiving a regular habit. The more you do it the more natural it will become.
- Be spontaneous and write God an appreciation note sometime. Spontaneous praise is a sign of spiritual sensitivity. God enjoys our spontaneous praise.
May we all be thankful for the blessings God pours out in our lives!
CCWH had a very successful annual fundraising banquet last month, with guest speaker, David Bereit. The theme this year was "Life: A Story Worth Telling." We all have a story and because of the story of Christ, we are all offered love, freedom, and redemption. They received additional funds just after the banquet and are praising God that the total raised so far is $96,241 of their $100k goal! Thank you to members of Hope Community Church who participated in the event this year! If you'd like more information about how you can donate or get involved in this life-saving ministry in our community, please contact Renee Craig.
